We fell head over heels for this cozy country living room when we spotted it on Pinterest the other day. Maybe it's the fact that it's Christmas week, maybe it's the fact that outside our window, as we type this, snow is softly falling on our parent's front lawn, coating the world in a silent sheen of white. Maybe it's the fact that we spent longer than we'd like to admit sitting infront of the fireplace yesterday, our toes wrapped in warm wool socks, wine in hand. One thing's for sure: we're craving cozy living spaces this season, and this one fits the bill. We're loving the whitewashed wide plank wood floors, and the gorgeous insanely high beamed ceilings. By painting the walls and ceilings white, the space looks even more expansive than it actually is (and it's quite expansive!). Add an industrial style coffee table (this one would fit the bill), overstuffed linen sofas, cozy throws, industrial pendant lights, and a light, comfy underfoot rug,and voila – you've got yourself a perfect country space. Of course, you'll need the fireplace too – but unfortunately, that one can't be mailed to your doorstep.

The country-house basics of this living room - reclaimed oak floorboards, a library of bookshelves and made-to-measure shutters - are cleverly counteracted by the latest in furniture and lighting. The rug is 'Baba Cool III' at Tim Page Carpets while the useful-sized side table comes from The Conran Shop. The shutters are painted in 'Cocoa' from the Damo Collection by Sigmar, which is co-owned by the flat's designer Ebba Thott.

I am moving into a new apartment in a couple of months and I'm really excited; however, the living room layout has me stumped. The kitchen counter is in a unique location, so it limits what my mind can conjure up for living room furniture placement. The obvious solution would be to place the couch along the long wall, but then there would be no place to put, or mount, the television, and that is a complete must-have in my world! So, considering the long wall is out for the couch placement, is there anything you guys can do to help me?
